You can stand there and heal up or attack when Nosk gets close.

If you stand just beside the central platform most of Nosk’s attacks will miss you. Nosk has 680 health and four different attacks to try to give you a headache but the battle isn’t that difficult if you use the arena to your advantage. Break another wall to the left and follow the passage around to the next boss fight. Do a super dash to the left to land on a ledge by a breakable wall.īreak the wall and drop down to pick up a Grub. Go to the left and then double-jump onto the ledge above. Continue to the left for a shortcut back to the Bench. Head to the left to pick up the Vessel Fragment. You’ll need to parry off the top of the Garpedes to the passageway above. When you reach the end to the right there’s a breakable wall to the right with a Soul Totem behind it. To reach the fragment you’ll need to make your way past the millipede creatures, Garpedes, to the exit above and then across to the right by parrying off the Garpedes. To the right is the Tram Station , under the Tram Station is the Sharp Shadow charm but you’ll need the Shade Cloak to reach it and above the Tram Station is a tricky platforming section for a Vessel Fragment. Make your way left, around the narrow caverns, and then down all the way to the Hot Springs and Bench. Cornifer is just to the left and will sell you a map for a few Geo. When you drop down into Deepnest you’ll immediately find a Mask Shard. The best place to enter Deepnest is from the Fungal Wastes, just to the west of the Mantis Village.

This is where you’ll finally find the Tram Pass, another Pale Ore, after an optional boss fight, and one of the three Dreamers. It includes a few sub areas like the Weaver’s Den and Beast’s Den. Cornifer warned me and everything.Deepnest is a large area with intricate passageways. Almost doubled my total today, up to 3950. I've been keeping a running total of how much geo I've lost by dying. Since I haven't beaten the Mantis Lords, their door isn't open, and I can't go back up above the hot spring, so I'm not really sure how else to get out. I thought maybe if I could find a pass on the way, that could get me out of the Deepnest. The other was a path I apparently missed while trying to follow signs pointing to one of those trams I can never find a pass for. The map suggests there are two other possible paths for me to take, but one of them leads toward a boss so that doesn't seem like a smart way to go. I respawn at the hot springs bench in the Deepnest. My spirit ended up on the wrong side of a jumping puzzle I can't manage to complete - like, it's waiting for me at a point further than I've gotten.

Went and stashed 1k in the bank just in case (although I don't trust the banker at all) and managed to explore a decent amount, but then I got severely stuck and lost the 2k I'd kept on me. I can't imagine that she's a fun fight at any point in the game though.
#Hollow knight walkthrough upgrade#
I beat her with only the second nail upgrade but she's significantly faster with the third one bought (IIRC, the difference between 51 and 32 hits).

Long Nail, Fast Nail, all the health you can come in to the fight with (I think I ended up using the charm that maxes out your blue health but stops you from healing because healing isn't particularly effective in this fight) and jump on her head. Once you get one of them down, the remaining one is just fighting the first phase all over again (just a bit faster).įluke Marm is, in a word, shit. So unless I could get in a single swipe at the back, I ended up only hitting the guy on the right once when they both went up to do their throwing attack. The hard part about the second phase of this battle was the fact that the two mantis' attacks aren't always synced up. In fact, I beat the first one of them without getting hit at all. I had difficulty with them my first time attempting them but when I went back (after upgrading my nail the second time) I beat them within about 20 minutes of trying. I only found myself getting hit when I was getting greedy for attacks during the first phase which is good because his second phase can be challenging to avoid getting hit. You can pretty effectively hit him 3 times while he's throwing shit and just avoid him while he's burrowing/diving. Dung Defender, Mantis Lords, Flukebiatch.ĭung Defender is pretty easy if you have the extended and fast nail charms.
